Rx Monitoring Services, Inc. celebrates its 10th year as a provider of power quality services!
Rx Monitoring Services, Inc., a remote power quality site certification provider, was founded by Bob & Sue Thomas in December, 1995. Based on the premise that power quality is a service and not just a box, RxMS developed its organization to provide uncompromised data to customers. In order to deliver on the promise that "it's not power related" RxMS searched for existing monitors that would have three key features; 1) easy to install with no set-up, 2) Provides detailed data on all phases as well as phase to ground and neutral and would be bale to be remotely accessed by a modem (or eventually the internet) and finally 3) It had to be rugged to survive the needs of field service personnel. After an extensive search, no one monitor met the criteria forcing us to design a monitor for our own use. Setting up a shop in the garage, a new monitor was designed to meet the basic criteria. The monitor was made in limited production until Erik Kindseth and Todd Heino joined RxMS in 1997. Their first priority was to upgrade the technology and on July 22, 2003 the new design was awarded a US Patent. Using this technology, RxMS has serviced over 9500 sites worldwide since inception.
Servicing industries in medical and imaging, printing and publishing, industrial, semi-conductor and computer companies, RxMS has utilized its patented technology and developed power, environmental, and line impedance analyzers to provide the best data acquisition tools in the industry. Their power quality analyzers include the EPA 2000, EPA1000 and the soon to be introduced, R-Box. The Z-Brick, line impedance tester, was developed to accurately test a line prior to the installation of equipment. In 2004, The EL50 was introduced to monitor environmental conditions, such as air pressure, dust particles, and temperature and humidity.
Next on the design teams radar screen, the design of a monitoring system that can be economical enough to monitor site and equipment 7x24x365. This is a monumental task if you refuse to compromise on the monitor's ability. RxMS customers demand that the monitor catch the event and provide documentation and to do this at the price point required is nearly impossible. Competitor's have tried to market a box that will not catch key elements and thereby wrongly tell the customer that the power is OK. Wrong data leads to costly decisions. The patent pending R-Box will be released in mid-2006 and will provide customers with the only comprehensive solution that provides enough data to be 100% assured that power quality is not the issue. RxMS is leading the way to profitability and service reliability!
